The Onimusha series has been a cult favourite which many fans have clamoured for a return since Capcom has been pushing out re-releases of their classic titles on this generation, which has been quite successful for them. Capcom Community manager Andy Wong also stated on the Playstation Blog that fans of the old-school controls will have the ability to play the game as it was originally designed and also keep the Fixed Camera angles. The re-release is promising high-definition graphics, widescreen support, a new soundtrack and a new control scheme designed for analog sticks. The game focuses on the samurai Samanosuke and his ninja friend Kaede who go on a mission to save a Princess from the demons who serve Nobunaga Oda. Originally released in 2001, The Onimusha series started as a spin-off of Capcom’s Resident Evil series before growing into its own franchise. ![]() While it isn’t a new title in the series, Capcom did surprise everyone yesterday when they announced that the original Onimusha: Warlords is getting an HD Re-release for the Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox One and PC early next year.
